Burning Rubber Slowjams is one of my first slowjam mixtapes I ever made (1999). In fact the original title was Burning Rubber volume 3, but I lost the other mixes through the years. So enjoy the sexy music and naughty lyrics.
This one is dedicated to all the bass lovers. The sound of bass is one of my favorite sounds. There is so much power in low frequency tones, especially in electronic bass sounds like the 808 basskick or a sine wave. You can feel it all over your body when you give it the right volume. For some reason the CD got damaged from this track and I’d lost the track. I found it back on an old Hard Disk of an old friend, who had made a backup, a few weeks before my pc crashed. This is a selection of music I grew up with. I enjoyed this music before the CD-player was invented and even before the word Walkman was introduced. When I listen to these songs I experience the peaceful vibes from my young years again. There was no music channel on TV yet. All we had was “AVRO’s Top Pop” on a weekly base. This is the music I grew up with in the late 70ies until the early 80ies, just before I discovered “The Soul Show” on the Radio.
Life is too great (including the hard moments) to be sleeping or to block out! Eyes wide open. Don’t be enslaved but dare to be free.
This is the mixtape where I’d spend the most time in creating it. All separate tracks are build from and acapella on one or more instrumentals or beats. Blends or Mash-up’s. After blending 40 or 50 tracks, I mixed them all together and after that I remixed it all and put some special effects in it, like shout’s and jingles. i created this mixtape in 2000 and it took me over 4 or 5 months to finish it.
It’s about balancing between tender, peaceful vibes and the hard reality where stress and pressure are just common factors. Intense mood swings in a world that’s surrounded by soul music.
By many requests I finally dropped another Old School Slowjam mixtape. This time I focused on the mid 2000′s. Most tracks are about unfaithfulness, break ups and anger within a relationship. We’ve all been there, through the hardships, heartaches, breaking ups and getting over it. When you look back you remember that period and let’s hope we’ve all learned from it and grew stronger because of it. I hope you don’t see these experiences as purely negative ones. Sometimes it’s just a part of life and you have to go through this to be a better, more grounded and solid person.
I want to bring you back to the soul music sound of the sixties and seventies. And there are a few artists from the early eighties which I want to include. I just need to reach out, and spread it all over the world because these timeless songs are too big to keep for myself.

Café Central is probably the best known Jazz club in Madrid. Popular in the day when you can have a coffee, but really comes to life at 10 p.m. when the live performances start. You can order drinks food and complete meals, during the concert. The stage is so nearby, you could reach the piano. The music really touches you. Jazz, hard-bop, horns. And the service is great.
